Otley Hall

A stunning Grade I listed 15th century, moated Tudor Hall
with 10 acres of enchanting gardens. Today, the gardens
include wooded areas, charming water features and an
H-shaped canal, inspired by the designs of Francis Inigo
Thomas and Sylvia Landsberg. The gardens are also home
to an abundance of wildlife within the grounds such as otter,
deer and over 75 species of bird, as well as the hall's majestic
peacocks. Explore the curated sculpture trail around the
moat. Visit Martha's Barn Café, serving hot & cold drinks,
brunch dishes, light bites and cakes. Most areas of the gardens
are accessible via lawns, gravel or bark paths, rather than
smooth, flat paths. There are also some steps, but nearly all
areas can be accessed via the same level.

Five acres of gardens surround a medieval manor house (not
open) and its large moat. Formal areas have been designed by
Chelsea gold medallist George Carter. The gardens include
Mediterranean gardens, colour themed walled kitchen garden,
orchards, ponds, wild rose beds and parkland. Featured in
Gardens Illustrated, The Telegraph, The English Garden and
Suffolk Magazine.

An opportunity to explore the campsite (Alde Garden),
behind the pub, and to purchase plants, cakes and crafts.
Tea and coffee available in the garden. The pub is open 12 -
3pm. The garden has an unfenced pond, ducks & chickens.

Varying styles and sizes of gardens can be enjoyed around the
village, plus morris dancers, scarecrows and hedge poems.
Also a riverside walk along the banks of the Deben, near the
Maybush Inn. Entry tickets and maps available from the Village
Hall, pub and main car park. Cream teas and plant stall at the
Village Hall.

A large garden with southerly views over the Dedham Vale,
featuring extensive lawns, herbaceous and mixed borders and
some fine trees, many planted in the 1950s & 60s when Stour
was the home of Randolph Churchill. There are some ponds,
water features and wet garden by a seasonal stream. Limited
disabled parking, but sufficient general parking nearby.

A large, mature, organic wildlife-friendly garden featuring
a variety of trees, perennials, shrubs and roses. There is
something in bloom every week of the year. Several areas
of the garden include sheltered spaces, wildlife ponds and
a tropical area - which in previous years saw bananas on
the banana plant. Enjoy winding paths that take you through
mixed plantings.

A typical English garden featuring a Japanese cloud hedge,
walled garden with border, cutting garden, vegetable garden
and a newly planted rose garden. Yew hedges create a

Delightful gardens in a quiet cul-de-sac with a variety of designs
covering up to one third of an acre. From raised beds and
vegetables, to woodland areas. Experience tropical and prairie

including icinus, tetrapanax, foxglove trees, brugmansia and
many types of grasses. Two new gardens added this year.

Stowupland Village Gardens and gardeners include two that have
featured on BBC Look East, one in Modern Gardens Magazine,
an award-winning Chrysanthemum grower, a Daily Mirror Shed
of the Year winner, thatched cottages and new-build house with
recently created gardens. Over ten gardens will be open providing
ideas and inspiration for visitors. No parking on the green.

The Brambles

Brambles is a large south-facing plantsman's garden, planted
to encourage birds and wildlife. It has been developed over
the last decade and contains many unusual plants, a pond and
herbaceous borders with over 40 different roses. There is also a
fruit area and two greenhouses.

Starting with a short ride from Ipswich to Beccles you'll be joined
onboard by a Hospice Ambassador. At Beccles there will be a
short talk from Suffolk Wildlife Trust and a chance for lunch and
a leg stretch. Tickets allow you to then carry on up the line, using
your info guide, and see the work of the volunteer adopters that

This beautiful garden is situated in a private nature reserve,
surrounded by wildflower meadows and managed woodland.
From February to April, the garden features swathes of
daffodils with primroses, cowslips, flowering cherries, crab
apples and many fruit trees - look out for the magnificent
medlar and quince. Enjoy the meadows, the wildlife, see the
deer, productive kitchen garden and greenhouses, a walk in
the wood. Plants, local honey and produce for sale. This year
includes a beginner's beekeeping demonstration.
