Since 1989, our hospice team has
built a reputation for delivering highlevel
care to patients when support
matters most.
Every year, we provide free care to over
4,000 patients and their families, living with
progressive or life-limiting conditions across
East Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney.
These services cost around £12m to
facilitate annually, with 70% of funds being
raised via revenue streams and community
generosity such as retail shops, donations
and fundraising activities, thanks to the
support of people like you.
Put simply without the local community's
fantastic support, our teams would not be
able to deliver their vital services.
From our inpatient units at the hospice in
Ipswich and Beccles Hospital, through to
our Community Care Units and community
teams, as well as our therapy teams and
LivingGrief services, the hospice provides a
range of care to support patients and their
families at all points of life's journey.

Mary's Hospice Story
"St Elizabeth Hospice is marvellous. It is a
superb place to come and a real sanctuary,"
Mary Chennells, aged 95-years-old, who
received symptom support on our Inpatient
Unit, between February and March 2024.
"You give up all responsibility and are
wrapped up by the hospice team's amazing
care. It is just phenomenal.
"Shortly after speaking with St Elizabeth
Hospice, I had a visit from their team for
an assessment regarding how they could
help and I never looked back. I was keen
for someone to help and take control of
my situation, and they certainly did that, for
which I am very grateful.
"All the St Elizabeth Hospice staff, from the
volunteers, cleaners through to the nurses
and doctors, are so unbelievably kind.
"As well as providing me with medical care
and helping me to feel more comfortable, the
human touches they give make the world of
difference. Having the nurses comb my hair,
wash my hair or putting some lipstick on me,
really gives an uplift to your day.
"I really cannot fault St Elizabeth Hospice for
what they have done, they are just excellent
and I would recommend their compassionate
care to anyone."
