Over 1,600 volunteers collectively
donate 443,456 hours of their time
to the hospice every year, equating to
over £6.2m in salary savings.
Put simply, without their generous
support, our teams would not be able to
deliver vital care to thousands of patients
and their families throughout your local
community.
There are many ways you can volunteer
for the hospice, whether it's in one of our
shops, our Inpatient Unit, Community
Care Unit, or as part of our events team,
to name but a few!
Along with supporting your local hospice,
volunteering is a great way to meet new
friends, build your CV and enhance your
quality of life and wellbeing - it feels good
to do good.

Jessica Hayward
Volunteer at Westwood
Avenue shop, in Lowestoft
"I absolutely love helping at the hospice's
shop on Westwood Avenue! It's such a lovely
shop to volunteer in.
"I was inspired to volunteer - to give back to
the hospice and say 'thank you' for the help
they gave Nanny when she was ill.
"My role mainly involves sorting through the
generous donations from the community,
before helping to display and price them for
customers to buy.
"There's always something to do, and not only
does it feel good to make a small difference,
but it's also a great way to meet new people."
Mike Smith
Volunteer at our Framlingham shop
"I volunteer at the shop because I'm
passionate about clothing, especially
menswear, and sustainability. Shopping in
charity shops is a fantastic way to support the
environment, and there are some amazing
finds out there waiting to be discovered.
"I'd encourage anyone to give volunteering
a go - you have nothing to lose, and you'll
be supporting a charity that provides
vital services to so many people in your
community."
