Volunteer to Employee
"Without St Elizabeth Hospice, we wouldn't
have fulfilled Lee's wish to die at home. I
am forever grateful to them for making it
possible and this inspired me to apply to
volunteer for the charity in January 2021.
"The volunteering team matched my
interests and skills with a role driving PPE
in the hospice van once a week during the
height of the pandemic.

"It felt special to give back and support
the hospice team in delivering vital care to
patients and families.
"My background is in events management,
and in late 2022, the volunteering team
told me about a job opportunity as Events
& Challenges Manager at the hospice.
"I applied and was thrilled to be successful
- I haven't looked back since!
"I feel very lucky to be doing the right job
for me, for a cause I totally believe in.
"Being part of the team that runs events
like the Midnight Walk and Christmas Day
Dip is humbling, and I'm extremely proud
of the charity.
"Having received support from the hospice,
volunteered, and now worked for the
charity, I can confidently say it's a special
organisation with compassion and people
at its heart."
